Hey all beauty geeks!!! I know we all love our black eyeliners. They add a spark to any eye look. However, I feel black eyeliners can also look harsh at times. Some eye looks need a rather subtle liner to keep the feel intact. I prefer brown eyeliners to black for most of the times. Firstly, a brown eyeliner does not close my already-small eyes. 😉 It also does not look as harsh as black and adds a polished finish to my eye looks. Today, I am going to review my favorite brown eye liner with a ‘gold’ twist –  Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Brown & Gold.

My take on Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Brown & Gold:

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Brown & Gold comes in a small frosted glass jar with an aluminum cap. I love the frosty finish of the jar, but hate the cheap looking cap. 🙁 The gel eyeliner also comes with an eyeliner brush, which is actually pretty decent to use. You can use the flat side to make thick lines and the thin edge to draw out thin lines. Since this gel eyeliner has gold shade in it as well, it looks like a swirl of gold in the brown gel. And the swirl is not just on the surface. It extends till the end of the jar. The jar is little heavy and may break if not handled properly.

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Brown & Gold is the prettiest dark brown shade I have. It is a real dark brown that does not look blackish brown or chocolate brown. It applies really intense, but becomes a tad lighter as it dries. The best part is the addition of the gold gel in the eyeliner. It is like a double whammy!!! No, it is a triple whammy. You can use the brown and the gold shade separately to line your eyes. You can also use a combination of both to make a sparkly brown as an eyeliner. Three beautiful shades in price of one. 🙂 It can also be used a base for your eye makeup.

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Brown & Gold has the perfect consistency. Neither very dry, nor very creamy. It goes on super smooth on the eyelids and no dragging is ever required. Also, you need not dip your brush in the jar after every second to get the color on the brush. It sets quickly and for long. If you want a smudged look, you will have to act fast.  The pigmentation is very impressive. Just one swipe gives enough color on the lids. The staying power is super awesome. It stays for an entire day on my oily lids, even without a primer. That is like an award winning quality. 😉

Recommendation: I am sure all the eyeliner fans already have this in their kitty. However, if you are still contemplating, do buy it. It is an awesome quality for quite affordable price. Will not dry up in the jar for long. A gorgeous brown shade to line your eyes and add a twist with the gold shade. If you are an eyeliner junkie, this is a must have girls. Highly Recommended!!! 🙂
