When you look in the mirror are you happy with the way you look? If you’re like most women, sadly the answer is no. It turns out that 91% of women feel dissatisfaction with their body image.
Body positivity is hitting the mainstream though. Society is redefining beauty with plus-sized models on the covers of popular magazines. Be that as it may, how does that help you?
If you’re feeling negative about your body, let’s change that with some slimming outfits. Unsure what those are? Keep reading.
1. Define Your Waist
The first key to finding slimming outfits for yourself is defining your waist. You want to create the illusion of an hourglass, accentuating your curves.
To do that wear high-waisted bottoms and tuck your looser-fitting shirts into pants and skirts.
2. Vertical Stripes
When searching body slimming outfits, don’t shy away from vertical stripes. You do however want to shy away from horizontal completely.
Just know that when you wear stripes, you’ll be drawing more attention to yourself. Choose dark colors for your stripes and don’t wear the same pattern with your entire look.
Again, you want slimming clothes that accentuate your waist. For example, pin striped pants with a simple tucked-in top will create the illusion of elongating your legs.
3. Choose the Right Lingerie
You’ll also want to find the right lingerie since it’ll help so much with those body slimming outfits.
You want to avoid tight bras since they’ll draw more attention to back fat. The same goes for tight lingerie since it can create “muffin tops” or rolls.
A simple solution would be to not wear any underwear at all! It’s better than wearing unforgiving or uncomfortable fabric, isn’t it?
4. Invest in Shapewear
For an addition to your undergarments drawer, we encourage you to invest in shapewear. Despite popular belief, you can wear shapewear for daily use (not just for sexy date night).
You can think of shapewear as taking your lingerie to the next level. It will hide things like cellulite and bulges. For example, shapewear bras will flatter your physique and provide comfortable support all the while.
5. Dress in One Color
When you wear two colors, the eye is drawn to your waistline. If you have an hourglass figure, this may not be of concern to you. For the rest of us, dressing in one color will help elongate a boxy or rounder frame.
It creates one simple sweeping look.
Stick to These Slimming Outfits for a Desirable Silhouette
Do you have some new ideas for some slimming outfits? No matter your current body type, you deserve to feel good. Feel free to experiment too until you’re feeling your best self.
While it seems the world is changing its tune on body image, remember that you are the most important in this scenario. When you look good, you feel good.
