Hey all beauty geeks!!! Hubby and I planned a trip to New York for some work. Like everybody else, New York for me is a city of fashion and glamour. I could not visit New York without looking stylish 😉 So, taking inspiration from the city, I decided to follow a unique street fashion trend: Skirt over Pants. Sounds different, Yup. And stylish as well. So fits my bill. 🙂
Skirt over pants is a trend that was high in street fashion in the last year’s fashion week. As a beginner of the style, I preferred a conservative style. This ensured that I do not get the ‘What you think you are wearing?’ stare from Hubby. And moreover, I had to wear something which was travel friendly and helped me to brave the fierce cold outside. It was -5C in New York and I had to be prepared for that without looking grumpy. So, I planned this outfit.
I wore a bottle greenish skirt, which was a straight line skirt. It was really comfortable to wear without sacrificing on the style. I paired it with a black slim jeans. If you just glance, you could pass it as a legging. This combination was not over the top and did not make me look different. If you want a more daring outfit, you can even pair it with a regular denim. Since it had snowed in New York, I decided to wear my combat boots. These boots also made my outfit look less feminine and gave it a rock-chic vibe.
Since I was wearing all the dark colors, I decided to wear a bright fuchsia sweater on the top. This kept me warm and gave a pop of color to my otherwise all dark outfit. I wore a black T-shirt with collars underneath to give a little edge to the sweater. No outfit is complete in winters without a thick coat. I wore a black, quilted coat which is ideal for harsh winter, rain or even snow. The coat defined the entire look and made it come together.
I accessorized the outfit with a necklace and few arm candies. I wore a spunky bracelet to carry on the rock-chic vibe. The bracelet was coupled with a watch and a chunky bangle. I matched a multiple chain necklace that did not look over the top and at the same time coordinated with the cool bracelet. I decided to skip earrings.
Since it was cold, I had to wear a scarf and a hat to keep me warm. I chose to wear a blue knit scarf, which added an oomph to the outfit. I wore a black hat to match the outfit. These two accessories just shout ‘WINTERS’ in any look.
And this is me, as I say, with all the ‘tam-zham’. 😉
