Salman’s tweets created furor on social networking sites when he defended Yakub Memon and tweeted that instead of Yakub, the actual culprit- Tiger Memon should be hanged.

To calm down the situation Salman’s father, Salim Khan had stepped in, according to IBN report he said, “Whatever Salman has written is ridiculous and meaningless. Salman is ignorant of the issue and people should not take him seriously.”

Salim Khan also said, “Yakub should be kept in jail rather be hanged. Keeping him alive is a bigger punishment.”

According to IANS report, MP from the Mumbai South constituency, Milind Deora, tried to clear the confusion by saying that Salman was only trying to bring the main accused into focus.

“Spoke to @BeingSalmanKhan last evening & today. He doesn’t believe Yakub Memon isn’t guilty & was only spotlighting YM’s brother’s cowardice,” Deora tweeted on Sunday.

As per ANI report, a request has been made by Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam to Salman to withdraw his tweets, however the tweets are still visible.
