Everyone in India has a bit of Bollywood in them. They love, fight, cry and live somewhat like movies. They want to party like actors do in the movies, they want to sing, dance, have a love life of the same kind. We all grew up watching the same Bollywood masala movies but now the idiot box called TV also features some of our favorite characters, who too aspire to hit the silver screen and we have seen many of them hitting the silver screen and making it big. Some have been successful some have not been so successful. while some have failed. Today we will talk about some of these actors who started their careers with the small screen and made it big.
Rajeev Khandelwal:
The ‘Kahin To Hoga’ serial star Rajeev Khandelwal made his way into the movies with a very well received movie ‘Aamir.’ The movie got critical acclaim and he too was praised for his acting skills but he hasn’t been very active in the industry since then, though he was seen doing some roles like the one in ‘Shaitan,’ ‘Samrat’ and ‘Will You Marry Me?’ But unfortunately he never got completely settled. Having had a great fan following, he was approached by many film makers but looks like he hasn’t made full use of it.
Karan Singh Grover:
The ‘Dil Mil Gaye’ fame T.V. start Karan had always been the heartthrob of many girls. He is believed to be having a great female fan following and now he will be debuting alongside the Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu in the upcoming movie ‘Alone.’ What a great debut it will be.
Kapil Sharma:
This common man was first seen as a stand up comedian in ‘Laughter Challenge’ and the rest is history. His comedy series ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ has been a roaring success. The highest TRP and almost all top actors have been on the show many times. His value had to increase. He is also set to make a debut anytime soon.
Siddhart Shukla:
With his goody goody role in ‘Baalika Vadhu,’ he had become the good boy of T.V. but he came to the filmmakers’ notice after his ‘Jhalak Dikhlaja’ stint. He was spotted and given a role in ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.’ The role wasn’t that big but his presence confirmed he is here to stay.
Ayushman Khurana:
‘Roadies’ was the break he needed and after winning the famous reality show he never looked back. Then turning a VJ and doing some small comedy movies on Mtv, he just kept on climbing the stairs. His debut movie ‘Vicky Donor’ was a big hit and he was showered with awards after it. He has done many films since and has many more in store.
Sushant Singh Rajput:
Started his career with the serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’ on Zee tv, this actor wouldn’t have ever know that he would be able to make it so big and that so early in his career he would be doing so many big banner films with many great actors. He debuted in ‘Kai Po Chee’ which was a hit, and followed it up with ‘Desi Romance.’ He has also done a role in Aamir Khan starer ‘P.K.,’ and has many more movies in his kitty. Way to go boy!
Shahrukh Khan:
Well he has made it so big that most of us don’t even remember that he was once a TV actor too. He got noticed from the famous T.V serial ‘Fauji’ and the debuted with ‘Raju Ban Gaya Gentlemen’ and all of us know what happened after that. He became the undisputed BADHSHAH of Bollywood, ruled the silver screen for almost 24 years and is still going strong.
In the end I would say that all the new debutantes are chasing this last guy(Badhshah Of Bollywood) on the list and trying to follow the footsteps he has left for them.
