Hi, I am Khushboo and this is my first review on Beauty and Fashion Freaks. I like to describe myself as a jack of all trades (Munni, if you will) who loves to write, eat (only chocolates!) and is a strong advocate of magic, true love and “they lived happily ever after.”

Buying Nivea Pearl and Beauty Shower Cream Oil Body Wash was a complete impulse purchase for me. I was browsing through Flipkart, looking for Khadi shower gels, when I came across this product. Since it was coming with a free loofah and the product claims seemed impressive, I decided to buy it. Here’s my review 🙂 .

What does the product claim?

‘Let the seductive scent of Tea Rose gently captivate your senses. The luxurious cream oil formula, enriched with precious pearl extract, envelops your skin with a soft, sensuous foam leaving your skin feeling beautifully soft and silky smooth. Relax and rejuvenate with every shower.’

The product is dermatologically approved and is pH skin-balanced. It also uses the Hydra IQ moisture technology for a soft skin feeling.

Directions to use: Use a pea sized amount on the loofah and scrub to work up a rich lather.

My take on Nivea Pearl And Beauty Shower Cream Oil Body Wash

The Nivea Pearl and Beauty Shower Cream oil is white in color and has a quite runny consistency, as you can see in the swatch pictures. The cream oil comes in a white bottle with a purple flip cap and its packaging is quite sturdy. I have dropped it a number of times but thankfully it did not crack. The fragrance is mild and pleasant but it certainly does not smell like tea rose to me. It lingers on for about 30 to 45 minutes only. As for the pearl extracts, I don’t really know what exactly they are supposed to do.

I have dry skin which is very sensitive, so for me the body wash lathers quite well and leaves my skin soft and nourished. Works equally well in the summers and in the winters. However, you require a lot more than the pea sized amount which you have been asked to use by the company for bathing. Also, whenever I take an oil bath i.e. massaging myself with oil and then taking a bath after an hour, I have to use the body wash twice to clean myself thoroughly. The oil simply does not come off in the first wash. While this shower cream is good on normal days, you should avoid using it if you are a little grimy and dirty as you have to scrub for quite some time before the dirt comes out. I also used it on holi, but the colors came off only after a lot of efforts.

•      Does not have tea rose fragrance as claimed
•      Cannot be used to clean dirt and grime from your body
•     You need to use quite a lot of the product every day, so it gets over pretty fast
•      I don’t understand what exactly the pearl extracts are supposed to do.
•     Doesn’t mention the expiry date
•     Contains SLS and parabens
•     Availability, I have never seen it in a super market, I guess it is available only on online stores.

Will I repurchase Nivea Pearl And Beauty Shower Cream Oil Body Wash?

While it is a decent everyday body wash, it does not work for me as I tend to have an oil bath at least twice a week and I don’t particularly like bathing twice to get the oil off. Also, I have to travel a lot and I don’t like to put in extra time and efforts to scrub the dirt off. That is why I won’t be repurchasing this product.

Do I recommend Nivea Pearl And Beauty Shower Cream Oil Body Wash?

I would recommend it those people who are looking for a good, affordable, every day use shower cream. If you are the kind of person who travels a lot and comes back home covered with sweat and grime, you should stay away from this product.
