Hey Girls!  I am back with some more myths about the cosmetics and beauty products you use. It’s a general claim that using makeup every day can cause acne, pigmentation, wrinkles and other skin problems. But that is not the case anymore as the makeup products used nowadays are completely harmless. If you use a quality product within its expiry date, it will not cause any harm to your skin. One thing is to be kept in mind that you should not apply multiple layers of makeup with multiple touch-ups on an already present layer of makeup. This can cause acne.

What actually matters is how you care for your skin. You should use a good cleanser to remove makeup rather than using your face wash and moisturize your skin twice a day. Moreover, the quality products we use have been tested over the years and we have strict safety regulations now. So you need not worry anymore.
There are certain misconceptions about foundations as well. Firstly, it is a misconception that your foundation, as well as your concealer, should be one shade lighter than your skin colour. If you go for a shade lighter than your skin tone then your face will look ashy grey and you may also look ill. It shows a sense of insecurity about your own self. Why should you be so insecure? You should be proud of yourself.

Your foundation colour should match your skin colour in a way that it becomes hard for anyone to detect it. I agree that it is difficult and takes time to find the right shade but don’t slather on the wrong colour. It is cool to be yourself rather than trying to be someone you are not. Look natural, good and polished as makeup is to hide imperfections of your skin, it is not about changing you or better to say your complexion.
Secondly, applying more foundation to look fairer is completely outdated and doesn’t work anymore. On the contrary, it makes you look artificial and cakey. To look good and natural you can opt for a tinted moisturizer, BB creams etc.
It’s a common practice to test makeup by spraying on your wrists and rubbing them together. Trust me, girls, when I say this old practice would not work anymore as the perfumes of today’s time are too delicate to handle this harsh practice. The reason behind is that the alcohol in them evaporates and leaves a different smell behind which reveals itself differently as time passes. So please do not destroy the perfume by rubbing.
It’s a general belief that all-natural products are good for your skin but that is not the case every time and with every natural product. Anything with chemical is bad is a common misconception. Generally, when you pluck out a plant it loses its medicinal properties in a few minutes or it lasts hardly for a day. So to preserve these properties you require chemicals and its wrong to believe that all synthetic products are bad for the skin. All you require is to use a product carefully after doing your research. You should use the product which is of good quality and suits your skin.
It is claimed that more the SPF of your sunscreen the better it is but that is actually not the case. The SPF only determines how long the sunscreen can provide protection. For example, SPF 20 can provide sun protection for 200 minutes. That means you require SPF ranging from SPF 30 to 50. You should go for the sunscreen which provides protection against UVA and UVB rays. In case you are out in the sun for long hours then you can apply after regular intervals to protect your skin from sun damage.
