Sunscreens are extremely essential. I was not aware of this fact few months ago due to which my skin has suffered a lot. My face is tanned and there is slight pigmentation around my lips too. I am still fighting with these problems and trying to get rid of them. Now I apply sunscreen religiously and also keep trying various sunscreens available in the market. Today I will be reviewing ‘Himalaya protective sunscreen lotion’ for you. Description: It is a double action formulation that protects you from harmful UV rays and nourishes your skin. It is enriched with herbal Cinnabloc extract which gives long lasting protection from harmful UVA and UVB rays and nourishes the skin. Aloe Vera moisturizes the skin; white Apple extract prevents skin cell degeneration and premature skin ageing.

My Experience with Himalaya Herbal Protective Sunscreen Lotion SPF 15:
Himalaya Herbal Protective Sunscreen Lotion comes in a white plastic bottle with a green cap on top. The cap closes tightly and avoids leakage. The bottle is small and compact which makes it travel friendly too. The outer box of the packaging contains all the important information like directions to use, ingredients etc.
The texture of the sunscreen is light and it’s white in color. The fragrance is pleasant and mild so it will not be irritating even if you have sensitive nose. I really like the scent. The fragrance vanishes within one hour of application. I have combination skin and this sunscreen gets absorbed easily without leaving any obvious layer on top.
After application, it gives matte finish to my skin. This gives enough hydration to my skin and I even skip my moisturizer. This sunscreen will suit oily to combination skin type. If you have dry skin then this will not give you enough hydration and you will need extra moisturizer beneath. Little goes a long way and it blends easily. It doesn’t leave any greasy feeling behind which is why I love it more.
It contains SPF 15 which is very low. It can only protect your skin from the sun for maximum 1 hour which is quite low. Who has the time to reapply it after every hour? It takes me around 1.5 hours to reach my college in the morning which means I need to reapply it even before reaching my college. Lol, I don’t think I will ever do that so I don’t use this sunscreen much. Plus it is not water resistant too and I sweat a lot, so this is not for me. The texture is nice but the low SPF content and non water proof formula is a big thumb down for me.
Pros of Himalaya Herbal Protective Sunscreen Lotion SPF 15:
- Pocket friendly
- Travel friendly packaging
- Contains natural ingredients
- Will suit combination to oily skin
- Blends easily
- Gets absorbed completely
- Gives sun protection
Cons of Himalaya Herbal Protective Sunscreen Lotion SPF 15:
- Will not suit dry skin
- Only SPF 15
- it’s not water-proof
Rating: 2.5/5
Will I Recommend Himalaya Herbal Protective Sunscreen Lotion SPF 15?
This is a good sunscreen which will suit combination to oily skin type. The texture is amazing but the only negative thing is the low SPF content. It only contains SPF 15 so I will not recommend it as it will not be effective for long and you need reapplication. There are so many better sunscreens available in the market, skip this one.
