My second product review for BFF and I am super excited to post this review. 🙂

Rohita here, and my joy for travel and photography go hand-in-hand. The styles in a new place keep driving me to go CLICK CLICK CLICK. A new city, a new angle, a new cuisine, a new accessory, or, for that matter, a new sound keeps my styling focus grounded and yet forward. Apart from my creative interests, my love extends for Italian food, binge watching TV series (last was Arrow: p), bold colors, loads of kajal, footwear in flats, faux bob. http://mirziamov.ru/zaym-bez-otkaza/

L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Shampoo Review, Pictures & Swatches

Couple of months back, my Hair Stylist from Enrich introduced me to L’OREAL MYTHIC OIL Shampoo. It was winter, and due the weather conditions my hair had become limp without any bounce. When I complained about this fact to the Hairdresser, he suggested to use a gel based shampoo instead of a cream based one. He said that, since I have an oily scalp, a cream based shampoo adds unnecessary oils which the hair does not need. The same logic goes for our face, right? Dry skin needs heavy creamy moisturizer and an oily skin requires gel based moisturizer.

Every Salon I visit these days are stocked up with L’oreal products. Because of its wide range of variety I really get confused in choosing the right product for my hair. I hope my review and findings help you in your shampoo selection.

What The L’OREAL MYTHIC OIL Shampoo claims?

TECHNOLOGY

Paraben-Free Formula

Ingredients include:

Argan Oil: used for centuries by Moroccan women, Argan Oil is rich in Vitamin E and Omega 3 oils. It easily absorbs into the hair to deeply nourish and provide control.

Cotton Seed Oil: naturally light in weight this oil adds nourishment and extreme softness to the hair with a weightless finish.

APPLICATION

This lightweight formula allows for everyday use.

My experience with The L’OREAL MYTHIC OIL Shampoo:

I dislike shampoos which do not lather up and take up more time and effort when washing the hair. The Mythic Oil Shampoo has a clear/transparent gel based texture which lathes up just the right amount. I always think that if a shampoo is over-lathering, means it has more chemicals.

The pump style bottle makes it easy to use. A pump bottle is definitely an added benefit. It is faster, quicker and a lot less messier approach. About 2-3 pumps should be enough, depending on the length of your hair. One bottle should  last at least 6 months, again depending on your usage.

The bottle is travel friendly due to the pump style but I wouldn’t carry a 250ml size bottle during travelling, it will definitely occupy more space.

One of the things I love about this shampoo is the amazing fruity, sweet, baby oil fragrance. The fragrance is not strong – it is mild and pleasing to the senses. The frangrance does not linger after wash. There is that nice, clean, and fresh feeling after wash.

Hair feels squeaky clean and soft after wash. What I am really not convinced is, how different it is from the rest of the gel based shampoo? For a bottle of 750rs it is priced heavily. Yes, the hair is soft and I did not experience any side effects from using it. But like I said, I may get a similar results from using a any other gel based shampoo for 350 Rs a bottle.

Pros of The L’OREAL MYTHIC OIL Shampoo:

  • Gel Based texture
  • Light texture
  • User friendly packing
  • Cleans the scalp without any grim
  • Oily scalp will benefit more
  • One bottle should last at least 6 months
  • Sweet, fruity and mild fragrance

Cons of The L’OREAL MYTHIC OIL Shampoo:

  • Result is not extraordinary
  • Hair doesn’t feel voluminous
  • Over priced

Final Rating: 3/5

Will I repurchase The L’OREAL MYTHIC OIL Shampoo?

I will answer to this directly – NO

Firstly it is overpriced. Secondly I can get the similar results using a reasonably priced shampoo.

Do I recommend The L’OREAL MYTHIC OIL Shampoo?

I will recommend it to people who are dedicated to the L’oreal brand. The product is good and rather than going for the other L’oreal shampoos, you can use this for its gel texture. Also, it works for oily scalp and limp hair. 🙂
