Lakme Pure Rouge Blusher in Honey Bunch – Review, Swatches and FOTD

Hey all beauty geeks!!! Today I am reviewing the first ever bronzer I picked up. I know the product is a blush, but it can be used as a bronzer on fair to medium skin tones. I bought it when there were no good matte bronzers available in the market. The ones available had shimmers in them, so could not be used for contouring. But I was desperate to get a matte bronzer as the contouring craze had just started in India. So, while checking out the newly launched Lakme Absolute bronzer, the SA showed me Lakme Pure Rouge Blusher in Honey Bunch as an answer to my question – ” This is shimmery, do you have anything brown but without shimmers? ” I was ecstatic to finally find something similar to a matte bronzer. My take on Lakme Pure Rouge Blusher in Honey Bunch:

Lakme Pure Rouge Blusher comes in four beautiful shades of blush. Honey Bunch is the only one which can be used as a bronzer on fair to medium skin tones. The color is a medium brown with mauve undertones. I love that the bronzer has neutral undertones; it is neither too warm nor too cool. It has a satiny finish to it which gives a natural sheen to the face. There are no OTT shimmers to spoil the party. Though I was really happy to buy it, I did not use it that much for two reasons. No, nothing wrong with the blush!!! First, I had very little knowledge of contouring techniques and second, I did not have the right brushes to do the contouring. ๐Ÿ™ But now, I am so much in love with this Indian wonder that I really place it at an equal status with my other favorite bronzers.

Lakme Pure Rouge Blusher in Honey Bunch is not just an excellent option as a bronzer, it is equally beautiful as a blush. It gives a nice, ethereal glow and would look super pretty on slightly dusky skin tones. I also use this bronzer as a crease color in my eye makeup. It works beautifully to blend out my overall lid color and adds a bit dimension to my eye. ๐Ÿ™‚

Lakme Pure Rouge Blusher in Honey Bunch is one of the silkiest blushes I have ever used. It is not at all powdery, has no fallout and has a super creamy texture. It goes on smoothly and blends evenly. It does not stick to any dry patches on the skin and gives a nice sheen to the cheeks. I love the satin finish it has, in place of a flat matte finish.

The blush is very pigmented and you need a very light hand to apply it on the face. Too much and you will look like a bad case of sun tan. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Stays for an average of 5-6 hours and does not fade away unevenly. Lakme Pure Rouge Blusher in Honey Bunch comes in a square maroon plastic compact packaging with a transparent lid. There is no mirror provided, but it comes with a brush.

Pros of Lakme Pure Rouge Blusher in Honey Bunch:

  • Medium brown shade with neutral undertones.
  • Does not look muddy on the face when used as a bronzer.
  • Provides a dusky glow to the face when used as a blush.
  • Decent pigmentation.
  • Silky texture.
  • Blends like a dream.
  • Applies evenly.
  • Daily wear blush/bronzer.
  • All skin tones can wear it, albeit for different purposes.
  • Long lasting.
  • Nice packaging.
  • Affordable.

Cons of Lakme Pure Rouge Blusher in Honey Bunch:

  • My only grudge is with the lack of mirror and the brush provided, but I can definitely ignore that.

Rating: 4.5/5

Final Recommendation: Lakme Pure Rouge Blusher in Honey Bunch is an awesome versatile product to have. It can be used as a blush, bronzer and as a crease color in eye looks. I really love the color and the finish it provides. An affordable blush with an impressive quality. So, people finally something which is available in India for getting a beautiful bronzed and contoured look. Highly Recommended!!!
