Be it architecture, history, Interiors or art, fashion inspirations can come in any form and shape 🙂 . Actually I am indicating towards two of the latest fashion discoveries which will surely make you look back to interiors and architecture as fashion inspirations. The first one is couture jewellery designer Mrinalini Chandra who showcased her inspirations on a runway in Mumbai with a dainty pair of Chair Chand Bali and a cluster of chairs that make her dining spaces Mang Tikka 🙂 . Doesn’t this sound amazing and so very creative and innovative at the same time!  The second one is a marble swirl print on actor Mugdha Godse. I just love exploring such new fashion trends and inspirations and today I am in a mood to take an insight into how all things architectural have inspired runways, streets and the fashionistas that rule them 🙂 . Jewellery inspired by your living room: I agree that it is difficult to be too far away from the cosiness of your living room but designer Mrinalini Chandra’s furniture chic jewellery has takes the warmth of home to another level 🙂 . This furniture jewellery has been adorned by Bollywood actresses like Vaani Kapoor and Sophie Choudry who carried it with elan and ease.

Marble swirl prints: When it comes to do abstract fashion, prints inspired by the polished form of rock are the coolest way 🙂 . Marble is generally associated with a sense of calm, the pattern can take on a rustic feel or have a smooth swirls reflecting the white and whimsical beauty of marble adorned architecture.

Spanish magic: Cities and their respective cultures have always been a source of fashion inspirations. Spanish Gothic architecture has been re-invented in fashion in the form of cuts, embroideries and the drama the architectural movement inspired.

Collections inspired by Baroque: Baroque was a cultural movement that was started in the 15th century which has been translated in fashion in the form of motifs inspired by signature use of jewel colors, gold and church. Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall 2012 collection was inspired by Sicillian baroque that reflects the architecture of the period.

Cityscape prints: Be it the architectural wonders or the busy urban everyday life, the city has inspired many creations from prints to three-dimensional designs.

Fashion Inspirations from Art, Architecture, History and Interiors

  1. Rashmi, in college we were taught about all these art movements and my favorite was always Baroque, and we use to pick them and design our products inspired by them!! Dolce and Gabana designs always move around baroque and Sicily!!
