Elle 18 Glow Foundation Review, Pictures and Swatches

Hey ladies! Today I will be reviewing a foundation from Elle 18 on this Indian beauty and makeup blog.  I bought this foundation few months back. I have used many products from Elle 18 before and loved all of them. So, when Elle 18 launched this foundation I was excited to try it because of the packaging and the affordable price tag.

Price: Rs 150 for 30gm

Shelf Life: 1 year

Create a flawless make-up base by using this ‘Glow Shell’ daily foundation from the house of Elle 18. Meant for fair to wheatish complexion, this foundation will not only hide spots and uneven skin tone but will also keep your skin oil free. It comes in a 30 g pack.

My Experience with Elle 18 Glow Foundation:

Elle 18 Glow Foundation comes in four different shades and I will be reviewing the shade “shell” for you all. I bought this shade because it has lot of yellowness in it so I thought it would suit Indian skin tone more. And I was right, the shade suits my skin tone very well, I think it will suit majority of Indian skin tones.

Elle 18 Glow Foundation comes in standard Elle 18 packaging which is a black plastic tube with a girl made on it with pink. The packaging is very girly and attractive at the same time; I love such cute packagings.  It has a screw-up cap on top which shuts tightly avoiding any leakage. The packaging is travel friendly, compact and attractive. The texture is light and it blends easily. I have combination skin and it feels light, non-greasy on my skin. But I still feel the need to powder my face after using this foundation. So, for people with very oily skin, this is not a good choice.

The coverage is very light and it will not hide any blemishes or spots. Yes, it didn’t even hide light blemishes from my face. But it evens out my face and better than before. Basically, it’s like a tinted moisturizer which gives you even skin tone and good to use daily. I have tried almost every bb cream available in the market and this foundation gives lesser coverage than those bb creams. You can layer it up two times to get little coverage but I don’t do it. I use this foundation sometimes when I want a makeup-free look. I just use this foundation and concealer to conceal my dark spots.

The texture is light and it blends easily with fingers. It doesn’t look cakey. The staying power is good and it stays for 6+ hours. I was not expecting the long staying power and was amazed to see it on my face even after 4 hours.

Pros of Elle 18 Glow foundation:

  • Affordable price tag
  • Pleasant scent
  • Texture is light
  • Shade suits me
  • Blends easily
  • Can be used daily

Cons of Elle 18 Glow Foundation:

  • No ingredients list
  • No SPF
  • Gives sheer coverage
  • Not waterproof
  • Better options available in the market
  • Will not suit oily skin

Rating: 2.5/5

Will I recommend Elle 18 Glow Foundation?

No, I will not recommend this so called foundation to anyone. It’s basically a tinted moisturizer which gives sheer coverage. Ingredient list is missing, no SPF content, it isn’t waterproof, will not suit oily skin and the coverage is very sheer. There are better foundations and bb creams available in the market. Skip this one.

I think the packaging is so cute but I usually wear medium to full coverage foundations.
