Hey all beauty geeks!!! There was a time when I would look at somebody’s makeup and dream of getting the same flawless look. Since I am a self-taught makeup lover, like all of us, it took me some time to get the techniques right. One major thing that I learned was that although good products do matter, but good make up brushes matter all the more. All of us have, at some point, realized that no matter how good your foundation is, if you do not have the right tools, you will never get a flawless base.
Today I thought of sharing such an awesome tool that changed the way my makeup looks. And to add to that, the brush is also a brilliant multi-tasker. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush is a must-have for all makeup lovers. And I am going to share the seven ways in which I use this brush for my makeup. What makes this brush an all-rounder is the way the bristles are shaped. It has flat edge to work like a paddle brush and also a fluffy head to help buff the foundation. So, lets get started!!!
1. Applying Foundation
The best way to apply a foundation with brush is to use the flat side to ‘streak’ your face with foundation. Take a small amount out on your hand and start applying short strokes on your face, acting like you are painting your face. Now, rotate the brush and use the other ‘clean’ flat side to blend the foundation on the face.
2. Buffing Foundation
Once you have blended the foundation with the clean flat side of the brush, start buffing your foundation in small circles using the brush head. This will give you the flawless finish you always wanted. Spend some time on buffing the foundation before you move on to the next step.
3. Blending Under-eye Concealer
Once you have applied your under-eye concealer, use the brush head to blend the concealer. The brush head is shaped perfectly to get fit in the contours of the eye area. The taklon bristles will absorb the excess product, making sure the concealer is blended perfectly.
4. Setting Makeup with Powder
Obviously, the brush cannot be used to set the makeup on the entire face. You do need a bigger, fluffy brush for the same. However, you can use the expert face brush to set the under-eye concealer and the T-Zone. Again, the shape of the brush is apt for setting these areas of the face.
It is very difficult to find a brush that is helpful for contouring. You need a brush that fits perfectly into the hollow of the cheeks, so that your contour is placed at the right point. The expert face brush is helpful in contouring the face as well, as its thin edge fits into the hollow of the cheeks. This ensures that the contour powder does not take over the entire place and makes you look muddy.
6. Applying Blush
Use small, circular strokes to apply blush on the outer area of your apple of the cheeks using the head of the brush. Remember to pull the blush little up to the temples, to give an uplifted look to the cheeks. The dense bristles pick up the right amount of the blush and blend it beautifully to give a natural look to your face.
7. Applying Highlighter
This is the part where I struggled the most. Finding the brush that picks up the right amount of highlighter and blends it neatly is the key to a natural glowing look. Use the head of the brush diagonally to pick up the highlighter and blend it nicely on your cheekbones. The density of bristles is perfect for ensuring that you do not end up looking all glittery.
Hope this helps in your makeup application as well. Cya later!!! 🙂
