When we talk about Bollywood and its journey, it has come a long way and the journey too has been quite long. In this journey of more than 100 years there have been some masterpieces which has impacted the industry so much that they have\ had become trend setters. While there are many movies that as a movie buff you would love to see but there surely are some movies missing them is something you can’t afford.  These movies are the milestones of Bollywood which have made it what it is today, the evolutionary process of Bollywood is incomplete without these and thus we have compiled a list of these movies which you must watch if you haven’t. Directed by K Asif, this movie is considered to be one of the milestones of Indian cinema. The casting of the film in itself is iconic, having Dilip Kumar, Madhubala and Prithviraj Kapoor in main roles, it has few of the finest actors India has ever seen. It is also one of the most expensive Bollywood movies of all times.



The film is as iconic as the dialogues of the movie. Each and every character, from Basanti to Jai and Veeru are so famous that they have become the bench marks for acting and performances. This movie too had few of the finest actors of all time, be it Mr Amitabh Bachchan or Dharmendra or Hema Malini.


Andaz Apna Apna:

This movie is a timeless comedy. One of the two great Khans of Bollywood Aamir and Salman can be seen romancing the two beauties Karishma and Raveena. The comic timings and the humor of the movie makes you laugh everytime you see it. The greatest punch comes from Shakti Kapoor who is crime master ‘Gogo’ when he in his own style says “Aankhen nikal ke gooti khelunga gooti”.

Dil Wale Dulhania Le Jayenge:

This timeless romance has just completed its 1000 weeks of running in the theater ‘Maratha Mandir’. This movie assures us that for every Raj there is one Simran. Sharukh Khan along with Kajol created magical romance on screen.



Another classical blockbuster in which Rajesh Khanna, the greatest actor of all time and India’s first superstar is seen struggling from cancer. The great movie also has ‘the angry young man’ of Bollywood before he was one. A timeless emotional drama which you must watch.



I know the new Golmaal was good but what is iconic and a must watch is the old Golmaal. The small pajamas to the mustaches to the dialogue delivery everything has been so great.


3 idiots:

A modern classic. The film based on Ranchoddass Chanchad or Rancho was seen and loved by one and all. This movie had great direction, acting, songs and even ended with a message like all Aamir khan movies. A must watch for all as it is motivational and gives you the right perspective towards life.


Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron:

Another comedy flick makes it to the list. The movie sees two jobless photographers being given an assignment by the hard-boiled editor of a newspaper whose sole aim is to catch the people on wrong foot. The movie has some timeless gags which make you laugh till your stomach pains and who doesn’t remember the mahabharat scene of this great movie.



This great action thriller has been the favorite of many. Bollywood has seen its remake and the sequel of the remake too. Amitabh Bachchan is called the Shenshah of Bollywood as he has 3 movies in the list which proves the point.


Hum Aapke Hai Kaun:

The only female centric film in the list and who else but Madhuri makes it. This movies is considered to be one of the most successful films in Indian cinema.
